Preserve & protect

ACT = Actions Changes Things

Mother Nature is a living entity, energy that gives us life in all aspects. Her character is like a mother, always caring and willing to give, only thing she requires is a little bit of appreciation and caring. Our being is closely connected to the nature, and if we lose our connection with the nature, then we are also losing connection with ourselves.

Appreciate Mother Nature, care about it and try to preserve it.
So many diseases, sufferings and pain has taken place only because we started going in a wrong direction – direction of destroying in the name of development. It’s time to wake up and do something, no matter how big or small the deed is, start to preserve the biggest treasure we have – Mother Earth.

How to protect nature?

Protecting nature we can do in many ways.
First we can start with ourselves and then spread the word. Here are few examples:

Organic farming is considered farming without using chemicals, pesticides, herbicides etc.

All the poisons that we are using in order to protect ourselves from bugs and pests are actual, at the end, ending up in our plate and causing so many diseases and disorders in our body. Therefore, encourage and support local farmers to grow organic by buying their products.

Only 3% of all water available on the planet is drinking water and, that shortage of drinking water day by day is becoming bigger and bigger problem.

Other big issue regarding to water is pollution. All chemicals we throw in a toilet, detergents that we use for washing our clothes or pesticides that we use in agriculture, end up in groundwater. And groundwater forms the basis of the entire eco-system.

Therefore, we should use water more carefully and try to use biodegradable detergents and other household necessities that doesn’t contain phosphates and has ecological certificates.

  • Use water rationally
  • Use biodegradable detergents (without phosphate)
  • Use organic fertilizers
  • Do not throw waste near river, lake, sea or ocean
  • Start rain harvesting

Trees are most important and crucial organisms on the Earth and yet 15.3 billion trees are cut down each year. It is estimated that 46% of the world’s trees have been cleared over the past 12,000 years.

Trees are producing oxygen, which is vital for all living beings. It absorbs carbon-dioxide, removes pollution and provides a clean atmosphere, absorbs the greenhouse gases that fuels global warming, keeps the soil from erosion, prevents floods, makes the soil fertile, retains moisture in the soil, regulates the world’s water cycle, collects dust in the air, creates clouds and so much more.

When it comes to forests, rainforests has most important role. Nearly 60% of all the world’s plants and animals are inhabited in rainforests. The world’s rainforests are currently disappearing at a rate of 6000 acres every hour. That is the reason we should protect and pray for saving rainforests.

  • Plant 5 trees and tell your friends to do the same,
  • Plant green surfaces, flowers and shrubs,
  • Educate others about the importance of saving and planting trees,
  • Donate and volunteer in planting trees.

Lack of legal protection for cattle and other animals is causing global industries to proceed with slaughterhouse cruelty, treating animals without any respect and with negligence. We all have the power to improve animal welfare, by demonstrating the vital relationship between people and animals.

115.3 millions of animals are yearly used in experiments. Rapid loss of species we are seeing today is between 1,000 and 10,000 times higher than the natural extinction rate.

Biodiversity is essential for a healthy and functional ecosystem. If wildlife is extracted from its natural habitat, the delicate balance of the ecosystem will be disturbed, which will then lead to disastrous results.

Therefore, protect animals, don’t use products that are tested on animals and try to spread the word to others about this matter.

Reduce, reuse and recycle

In this time of consumerism we are using much more than we need, purchasing more and throwing away half used things. Most of us are not aware that largest budget for cities is going for managing of solid waste. We should become aware of what we are buying and try to REDUCE our consumption and buy less.

Stop accumulation of plastic waste. It is not just the accumulation of plastics that harms the environment— it is also the fragments and toxins released during decomposition that pollute our soil and water. We should use reusable bag, such as cotton or jute bag and stop accumulation of plastic in our city and home.

Reduce, reuse and recycle are the main concepts of maintaining a healthy green city and world.

To be inspired is great, to inspire others is incredible!
